Robotics Tournament

We rushed home from California so that the boys could go to their Robotics Tournament.  We made it with all of two hours to spare.  It was a crazy trip.  I dropped off the boys at their middle school so they could catch a ride to the tournament then went home and crashed.  The first half of the tournament the teams were presenting their research projects to the judges and doing a team leadership activity.

Darin called us right as we were walking out the door to have Ken bring him a laptop and his wireless card.  It turns out that Darin's team only had the older programs so he needed to download them quick.  His team didn't score very well on their first round, luckily they take the highest score out of the three rounds.
Ken and Darin getting the latest programs.
There was alot of waiting around between competitions.
After the 2nd round all three teams from Kelly Lane were ranked in the top 3!  Darin is on Knightmare and Nathan is on BRJTTWAM Knights (which has some weird reasoning behind it, even if none of the teens could explain it to us completely:-)
In the cafeteria they could practice with their robots.
Darin took a break and the girls were very happy to greet him!
Rose and Ginger were pretty good sports waiting around all afternoon.
 Love the vampire teeth!
 In their competition.

 More practicing.

Nathan waiting for the judge to tally their score.
 Darin's 3rd round of competition.

 Nathan's Team

The three teams from Kelly Lane.

They had an award ceremony after the competition.  I didn't catch all the awards the boys' teams earned.  But they both moved onto the next tournament!
Silly girl taking lots of pictures.
We're so proud of our boys!
I just love how Nathan hugs us anytime something great (or bad) happens to him!
