Dance, Dance!

Poor Darin, it's not easy being the oldest sibling.  Especially at coming of age moments.  Now that Darin has turned 14 he can go to Stake Dances.  Before his first dance I asked a laurel from our ward to come and teach him a few dances.  Kelsey is awesome and Darin felt super comfortable with her.  Well, except for the part where our whole entire family was watching him learn how to dance!  Umm, yeah, we're totally terrible!  He was acting all shy and weird but I didn't have a chance to ask him until after the dance was over and he said it was because his siblings were all sitting on the couch watching (with Nathan making faces), and Ken and I were in the kitchen.  Whoops!

It turned out okay though because Kelsey gave him the low-down on asking girls to dance and taught him a few line dances.

Ken planned his Sunday School party for right before the dance.  He's such a great Dad, he wanted to make sure Darin didn't arrive by himself to his first dance.

 They played some games.

 Ate breakfast for dinner, this was what Ken's class voted for.

 Played more games.

And appeased me with some pictures before my first baby's dance!  Aww, did you hear my voice go up three octaves:)

Darin isn't in Ken's Sunday School class because of when his birthday falls in the year.  Ken teaches the 14 and 15 year olds.  Well, at least he did up until about a week after the party.  Ken was released and is now the Deacon's Advisor.

Darin said he loved the dance!  He thinks he danced with 20 girls, which shocked us:)  Darin had a great time and can't wait until the next one.  The cutest quote during my two hour grilling after the dance was, "Three and a half minutes is NOT enough time to get to know a girl!"  So cute! We are so thankful to Kelsey for making his first dance a great experience.
