The after Christmas Crash is brutal! Our kids woke-up super grumpy the Saturday after Christmas. They were fighting, even when they were playing video games together. That's a really bad sign. So Ken and I decided to take them to IHOP to sweeten them up. Oh my word, just asking them if they wanted to go set off a bunch of complaints. Actually I'm not surprised about that, our kids rarely want to go out to restaurants with us. They will usually beg us to just do a chore and let them stay home playing computer games. It's to the point where the boys will offer to babysit for free.
Anyway, since we had a bunch of grumpies Ken and I insisted and made them go to a restaurant with us. We are a bunch of meanies! But, it worked! It got the kids out of their funk.
Lola abd Papa joined us but came after pictures.
After IHOP we went to the church and Ken and the boys set-up a few things for an Eagle Court of Honor and then the kids spent an hour running around the gym and having fun playing together. It was nice since the weather was so yucky outside.
We debated between two movies but decided we really should see "Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day". It was pretty fitting for our crew! Lola and Papa joined us too, which was awesome because we were running late and they saved us a bunch of seats.
Unfortunately after the movie Rose still had some grouchies and wasn't nice to Lola, Me, or Darin. So instead of just coming home and getting ready to go to the Court of Honor and to play some more she had to stay home with me a clean bathrooms. Which oddly made her super happy. Anyway, I am glad that my family can mostly be super happy and have dun playing together.
