We came back from our trip to California a few days early because Ken ended up needing to fly out to Minnesota for a day. Actually, it was for a two hour meeting with a customer--seems kind of ridiculous his work will pay $1,500 for that, but whatever. We tried to tempt the kids with stopping at Yosemite or the Grand Canyon for a day or two on the way back but they persisted in us driving home as fast we could so they could spend time with their cousins. They were literally angels in the car and we only stopped (other then potty breaks) to stretch our legs 26 hours in.
They were so excited that Nathan swung open the door to hop out before we even stopped the car- resulting in him being the last one to run to them. Lola and Papa had fixed us a yummy steak dinner and we arrived just in time.
They spent two nights at Lola and Papa's and played around with their cousins. It didn't really matter what they did they were so excited! They played in the volleyball court, played cards, played a bunch of hide and seek, and even some pool on the last day.
We took them to the Austin Nature Center at Zilker Park. The kids were on the hunt for things to exchange, it was too bad that the lady wasn't there for them to turn stuff in. But, they had lots of fun bones and stuff for them to touch and measure and weigh.

We walked around and saw some of the animals.

Then we hit the Dino pit. The girls really liked playing with Ella. She has grown up and I think she liked having smaller people to play with too. Rose kept picking her up and trying to mother her which she didn't seem to mind much.

The older four didn't stay much in the Dino pit. They went to the creek and dug for shells most of the time.

Ginger buried herself in the sand, silly girl.

My phone died during our outing to the park so I don't have any other pictures. We went and saw Big Miracle at the dollar theatres with Papa and Ken. Then went back to Lola and Papa's for more fun playing. Our kids stayed the night again. And enjoyed going to the Clubhouse with Lola the next day before my sister and the girls left.
I'm glad they were able to spend time with their cousins. We were going to go to Branson, MO for Spring Break with my sister, her kids, and my mom before the tornados hit which would have given us alot more time together. But at least they got a couple of days with them. We'll have to plan on Branson again, cause it sounded really fun.
