Are We Crazy???

We are starting to finalize our summer travel plans. Ken will have to go to his company's headquarters in July sometime for at least a week. We have been thinking we probably will not have moved by then, so we would all accompany him and make it a little longer like 1 1/2 weeks so we can enjoy 2 weekends out there together.

Well, with our anniversary trip we will be gone from July 4th-13th. We had originally thought of going July 23-August 3rd. Giving us a week and a half between trips. But then we realized we would be gone for Nathan's birthday on August 1st, and even more important is August 2nd which is the baptism day for out Stake Baptisms.

We talked this over with Nathan and looked at the calendar, at first he wanted down time between the trips, but then when we brought up that meant he would have to wait a month to get baptized he wasn't too thrilled. We could have talked him into postponing his baptism for a month and almost nearly did, but he has waited for almost 8 years for this moment (okay only the past 4 or 5 have been really conscious), and we want it to be perfect and exactly what he wants.

So, now we are planning on going out to California with Ken July 15th-27th. It's nuts, we (meaning I, Ken will need to work after taking off 1.5 weeks for our anniversary) will only have 2 days to do laundry, get our house in order and pack for another trip, not to mention I will have to send out invites for his birthday party and baptism during our 2 days at home. Really does it even count as two days since we get home from Cancun at 2pm Sunday and leave for California at 4 pm Tuesday, that's really only one day to me. At least our air conditioning bill will be non-existent for the month of July. I keep reminding myself that he will remember not being baptized immediately after his birthday more then he will remember his mom running around crazy for a day between our trips. Besides he deals with crazy on a normal basis:-) I'm just glad we realized this now so his birthday party and baptism celebrations can be planned months in advance.

If your condo has a washer and dryer you could do your laundry there, then you'd already be packed and ready to go for California when you get back.
