BYE-BYE Baby Phase

It's time for me to chronicle what is going on with Rose and Gingers sleeping and eating habits. Every since August I have really felt like the upcoming school year would be a major turning point. It seems like the "baby phase" of our life has passed now with the girls.

Sleeping has gotten much better. The girls will now put themselves to sleep (most of the time). Even when they don't put themselves to sleep they just stay up playing and getting into things in their room. This is a HUGE change. We now have about 2 1/2 hours back out of our life. Previously we had to stay in the room until they fell asleep which would last for hours just because they were either so anxious about us leaving the room or too hyper to sleep. But now, after our usual bedtime routine they will read (look at) books and usually fall asleep pretty fast.

The only little thing is that they don't stay in their beds. Every night around 2 or 3 am they somehow find themselves back in our bed. Whether that is is because they came down and got in bed with us or if they wake-up crying and Ken brings them down to our bed. Notice I say Ken, because I like to huddle in the warm blankets:-)

One time Rose dragged herself down the stairs, we heard her come down and waited to hear the door open. We waited and waited, then after about 10 minutes Ken went to check on her. It turns out that she crashed right in front of our door.

Eating habits have been much improved, at least for Ginger because Rose has always had awesome eating habits. After Ginger weaned herself from the bottle her appetite has gotten much bigger, which has been great. She loves salad and vegetables, which is so weird to us still, it goes against what you think a toddler would like. Ginger also LOVES Bacon, with a passion!!! She can be quite the thief. However she is easily distracted at the table and is always trying to sneak up and down at dinnertime.

And our girls really, really LOVE rice. Their Lola spoils them with chicken and rice all the time and they gobble it up like they haven't been fed in 100 YEARS.

These are just Misc. pictures of Rose and Kaylee making houses at preschool.

That's so bittersweet when they hit milestones like that. That's great about the extra time together in the evenings, we love that time too.

Also great news on the eating yummy foods! I'm not surprised, having a Mom who is such a great cook!! :)
