Putting on the Ritz!

When we are in Cancun we really just spend most of our time at the condo.  There are a million different tours and activities you could go to but really we just need the beach and the ocean.  Plus, I rarely find eating out is worth the time or expense, I like cooking.  But we usually plan on doing one special activity every couple weeks or so.

This time with my grandma visiting us with my parents we were thinking of going on a dinner cruise.  Unfortunately we couldn't really find ones that were appropriate.  There were adventure Captain Hook/Pirate style ones and/or Booze Cruises.  There was a romantic cruise but the reviews said it was lame.

Instead, we decided to take my Grandma to the Ritz Carlton Casitas on the beach.  My grandma was very excited to get dressed up for the occasion and wore a dress for the first time in a long time.  Doesn't she look pretty!  So does my mom (and Papa too)!
Here we all are together.  This was adults only, no kids.
Inside our Casitas.  They are on the beach and have this netting to make them like your private dining room.
My parents and the Coconut Shrimp with Pineapple chutney that Ken loves.  My dad ordered clam chowder.
My grandma had the chicken and she said it had the most delicious mushroom sauce accompanying it.  My Dad split it with her and she still had leftovers.  My mom, Ken, and I all had rib eye and it was so delicious!
Ken got his different salts that he LOVES to dip his steak in.
Here we are again.  The individual pictures turned out much better then the group ones:(
My parents
This is a big year for them, they have been celebrating being married for 40 years.
The servers at the Casitas really waited on my Grandma.  The breeze off the ocean wasn't very strong this night and they brought out a fan for her.  They also brought out a more comfortable chair, told her stories, and let her take home shells that were decorating our table.  She really loved this evening!
The waiter also entertained my grandma with a few stories of different marriage proposals that he has arranged and also about what happened with the hurricane that hit in 2005.
And he brought out Roses for all the ladies.
There was a little dancing at the the end of the evening too.

It was a wonderful night and the Ritz always delivers when it comes to service.  Our entire group thoroughly enjoyed the evening!
