Fear Factor Part 2

We did have Nathan's Birthday Party pretty much exactly like we planned. It was an AWESOME Party! Nathan totally loved it. The day after his party he went to a party at Main Event and he still thought he party was way more Awesome!!!

I had thought my boys had outgrown the parties that are so directed with games but apparently not. All the boys had fun and after 3 hours they were still begging us to do more.

When they first arrived we had them decorating their "Barf Buckets" and "Man-ing" up with temporary tattoos. It helped that we had the nasty little snake in a aquarium on the table and he hissed like crazy and kept striking the glass. (I'll do another post about that guy)

The first Challenge was the obstacle course.

Then, they had to save the snakes. We put 50 snakes in a cooler with ice water and a bunch of other insects and lizards and they had to see who could pull out the most in 30 seconds. That water was ice cold. Which of course made it fun for them to see who could keep their hands in the water the longest after it was over.

I should probably say how we decided to reward them. We didn't want anyone to feel left out and we told the boys they had to encourage each other and be nice. Which they were really great about, then again they are wonderful boys. But I was a little worried about the competition aspect of the challenges. We ended up giving points for each challenge based on participation, 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place. I had bought 15 prizes at the Dollar Store for prizes and at the end the person with the highest points got to choose 1st all the way down to the lowest. I think the party went really well because of the way we decided to do the points.

Then they went inside for a tasting contest. They divided into 4 teams and each team had a plate of 5 things to eat and whatever team ate them all first (they had to be licked clean:-) won.

We had Duck Vomit (Ketchup, mustard, Ketchup), Rat Bellies (Chocolate Marshmallows cut into shapes), Fish Hearts (Cranberry Sauce), Owl Droppings (Coconut and chopped pecans mixed together), and Beaver Intestines (Cooked, Cold Raman Noodles)

The thing that kills me is that some of the boys were like YUM! YUM!

While others were really going to throw-up before they even tasted it.

It probably didn't help that we kept telling them they were going to need their Barf Buckets:-)

The next Challenge was eating bugs. I had put raisins into jello jigglers. Which surprisingly took me forever to make and 3 tries. You have to put half the jello down first on a baking sheet, let it congeal and then squish the raisins into it so they stay in place, and then put the other half of the jello on top.

They had to roll a dice and eat that many bugs. They got points based on if they ate them all, ate half of them, or tried.

It was a big deal for both of my boys to eat theirs because they aren't really fans of jello or raisins.
Although it took all of the boys quite awhile to figure out they were raisins. They were just fine eating bugs and kept asking for seconds. Our course Darin and Nathan were the only ones who didn't want 2nds.

We told the boys the next physical challenge was to walk across hot lava rocks. We blindfolded them and lined them up. Then we sprinkled 3 huge bags of BBQ chips across the driveway.
Can I just say that our neighbors think we are crazy, and not in a good way. But whatever at least our house if full of happy, loud, crazy kids.

The next Challenge was a battle. Ken had them balance on a wood landscaping beam. The bottom side was rounded and the top was flat, so it wobbled a bunch. They fought each other with swim noodles. It was way fun!

The last challenge we had them do was Pig Spleen Blow-Up. I died cool whip pink and put 3 bubble gum pieces in it. They had to find the gum and blow a bubble.

It was really, really hard for them to blow a bubble. I don't think anyone was really ever successful. But they had fun.

And got very messy.

Prize Time!

And this is the funnest! We do it at alot of parties and they go nuts. I think the kids love it more then a pinata. We fill the family room with balloons. We blew up 150 of those suckers and had them waiting. I toss a bunch of candy and little toys on the floor and put the balloons over them.

Then we let them all go wild at once. It's AWESOME! The go nuts popping the Balloons!

So this is cake that I made Nathan. Is it a shocker that no one wanted to eat it??? It only had a bunch of flies and worms on it.

This is the snake or our live entertainment. This guy really made the party. We kept him on the table where they ate pizza and dessert.

Nathan with his cake. Only 4 boys ate my cake. Although we did fill them up throughout, plus they ate a ton of pizza. We had 13 boys and they ate 6 large Pizzas, hungry suckers!

We never did get to use the frogs and lizards we caught. Ken was going to have them stand in the boxes of terror. We had huge boxes from our new couch and he cut holes in the top. We were going to show them the lizard, close them up in the box and tell them we were going to drop the lizards in with them. But we ran out of time. We spent 3 hours just with the party games. The boys were super disappointed.

But, after the party was over the boys had a silly string fight outside. After they ran out of silly sting they pretty much just ran around playing a pretend battle game. Who knows, they were just crazy loud and having a good time. It made the party last a whole extra hour.

I just have to say something about this pretty little girl in pink. She was amazing for Nathan's party. She followed these boys around everywhere and was in the middle of everything. But she was patient and would wait until the end to try some of the things if we had enough. For alot of the challenges we ran out before she had a chance, I did not figure on her and Ginger wanting to participate. Rose was extremely patient and didn't mind when all the boys crowded her out, she would just move around until she could be by Nathan. She loved being with him for his Birthday Party.
