CasaMagna Cancun

Lola and Papa stayed a couple of nights at Marriott's CasaMagna Hotel in Cancun for their anniversary. It was actually their 38th Anniversary. We took advantage of their warm hotel pools since the ones at the Villa weren't heated. Don't worry though, it's not like we were crashing their party. They actually had spent the day at an eco-amusement park. However, I think we had the better day since they came back early since Lola wasn't feeling well.

It was nice to spend a couple of days out of the two weeks being waited on. We loved our beach lunches!
There were a couple of funny conversations that happened with our children. Nathan was not thrilled about having to wear his life vest in the water. So when I told him he had to put it on, I got one those looks where he was rolling his eyes at me. I said, "Nathan, don't you dare look at me like that you are lucky you even get to be at the ocean instead of in the hospital! So put your life vest on." Okay, so the funny thing was that a man was laying out about 12 feet away from us and he whipped his head around to look at Nathan. I think he was expecting a Miracle Child kid, like he was on his death bed or something. Slightly embarrassing but Nathan put on his life vest.
The second conversation happened while we were playing in the pool. A plan flew overhead and I said, "Look Ginger a plane!" Then Ginger said, "I think that plane is from Daddy's airport." and started talking all about "Daddy's airport" A man laying in a beach chair right on the side of the pool totally looked around to see who we were. It was pretty hilarious. Ginger sometimes says goofy stuff like that. Like how Daddy lives at the airport, etc. She doesn't understand Ken traveling very well sometimes. If you ask her if Daddy is in California she will say, "No, Daddy's at his airport."

We tried to build a huge Sand Snowman but it totally didn't work out. After about 1 1/2 hours we just had a huge mound of sand.
The Hot Tubs were the best!

Getting Sunscreen again. We used SPF 70 this time and applied about every 2 hours vigilantly. So we came home with a nice tan and no sunburns!
This was an AMAZING Nativity scene in the lobby. Everything was made from food. Most of the statues were carved from chocolate.

Walking down to the bus stop. Taxis are totally expensive in Cancun. They will charge you $10 to just go 3 blocks. But since everything is basically on a strip they also run buses non-stop. It costs about $.65 when you convert the peso to dollars to ride the bus. So we ride the buses for the most part.
On this particular evening though there was a marathon going on. It was really lovely weather for it. So they had stopped running the buses since people were running on the street. So we had to walk about 5 blocks back to the villa we rented.

Ginger fell asleep on Ken's head and was so, so, so cute!
We were really proud of Rose because she had to go to the bathroom so bad but she was able to hold it. The kids were walking so slow after playing at the beach all day so it took F-O-R-E-V-E-R. But everyone was in a really great mood and laughing about how people passed us going the opposite direction, ran to the end of the line, then passed us again. It was really noticeable because there would be groups dressed in some vibrant matching outfits so we knew we were totally being lapped:-)
