Life at the Beach

Let's re-cap pretty much every day of our vacation. Life was pretty simple for us. The hardest decision was if we were going to start our day at the beach or at the pool. Poor, poor us:-)

We woke-up and ate a super yummy buffet breakfast. The kids LOVED breakfast and would eat so much that they wouldn't be hungry until 3 pm. The constant flow of smoothies probably had something to do with that too. We had wonderful servers on the beach and they kept us pretty spoiled. The resort wasn't all-inclusive, but since Ken is Platinum Marriott Rewards Member he purchased an all-inclusive package with his points for us which just meant that all of our food and drinks, from any of the restaurants or bars was included, except for room service. It was extremely nice to just order anything we wanted without a thought to the price. Oh, And I added up our food total for just one of the days and it was $400 Cayman Dollars-- that's about $500 USD.

Anyway, we spent every day except for our actual Anniversary just hanging out at the resort. Ken had a motto that was repeated quite often to the boys. Whenever they asked if he would take them on jet skis or to ride on a submarine. The answer was always, "Can we do it as a family? If we can't do it together then we aren't doing it all!"

It actually was pretty nice to be so low-key and do everything together. That's something that can be a bit of a challenge with having a drastically different age groups of kids. That's the main reason why we actually decided to go to the beach instead of some of the other anniversary ideas. The girls are also getting to the age where we can be a little more adventuresome with them too. We would throw the girls on our back and go off snorkeling. It was awesome!

We had a ton of fun! Lots of sand, waves, food, and SMILES...
