Rose's 4th Birthday Party

Pretty much everything that could go wrong, went wrong on the day we planned Rose's 4th Birthday Party with her friends.

Rose wanted an Ariel Under the Sea Party. The Little Mermaid is her favorite and quite fitting since she has always loved the water. We had all sorts of kiddie pools and water games planned.

Unfortunately, it started raining that day so we moved the party indoors. It turned out pretty darn Amazing considering I had just 2 hours to change everything up, Ken's flight was totally delayed causing him to miss the entire party even though he was supposed to come home that morning, plus we had two extra children staying at our home for a few days!
We broke out some foam stickers and markers for the kids to decorate their bags.
Then the boys and a few of their friends manned little game areas through-out our house.
Darin was in charge of the bowling.
Ethan did awesome at the fishing. It was actually really nice he was crashing at our pad because he helped get a bunch of the games/treats together too.
Nathan did a ball toss
Chava worked the musical chairs for the little ones.
Needless to say, all the little kids had a ton of fun. It was like a carnival in our house. Totally crazy and loud, but it was pretty fun.
This is Rose's good buddy James. They have the same birthday. They were also the ones who loved the games the most!
My pretty dancing girl! This year was a super good year for her. She has matured so much and has turned into a happy, singing, dancing little girl! She is so smart and we just love her big personality!
She really did love Nathan's Ball Toss Game. We had to drag her away from it to do cupcakes.
I just love this picture of Lola with these two!
Pretty Girl, just about ready to blow out her candles...
Whew! She made that wish! We had picked up all the Ariel cupcake wrappers and under the sea decorations for the cupcakes for months. I swear Rose would sneak into the pantry 2-3 times each week and play with them. She was so very excited to turn 4! I am glad that it was all that she had been anticipating. She was over-the-moon happy the entire week!
Ginger really loved all the action too.
This is Rose's good friend Ashley. As in Ashley, the friend whose hair Rose chopped off at Christmas. They are super cute together!
Opening presents. Rose was so awesome, she would give all of her friends hugs and say thank you all on her own. And of course, she LOVED all the presents.

After most everyone left Robin and her kids stayed and hung out with us. The kids all decided to go play in the rain!

OK, so this is not a terrific picture or anything. But I just want to post it to remember this is why I always say we have the ghetto yard in the neighborhood. Most of our neighbors have a lawn service. Plus, there are not a ton of kids in our neighborhood. And our house always some piece of old furniture on the driveway, the messy garage, bikes all over the lawn, and toys just strewn about.
We are totally the Ghetto House!
