Happy Family Anniversary!

This was a strange year for our family anniversary. Normally Ken and the kids take off from work and school and we spend the whole day playing around together. But this year we had to decide if we wanted to go to California for two weeks before our anniversary knowing Ken would be in Minneapolis on the actual day or to go to Minneapolis with him for 5 days and be together. We chose California.

Of course when the actual day of our Sealing Anniversary came around I was so sad. Seriously, so sad. Ken was out of town and the boys needed to go to school since they has missed so much recently. I took them to school, cried on the phone to Ken for an hour before he had to go to work, crawled back in bed with the girls and slept half the day away. It was terrible. We learned a valuable lesson that day. We are definately celebrate on THE day type of people. Thankfully the girls and I woke up in time to get this beautiful surprise from Ken. We (okay really it was just me, but the girls made sad faces for me:-) cheered up quite a bit when the boys were finished with school. The evening was full of the usual soccer practices but we made a special trip to get ice cream. I think the lady at the store thought we were nuts sitting around eating ice cream and talking to Ken over loudspeaker. That weekend when Ken came home from his business trip we spent the day going to everyone's soccer game and went out for a special dinner at a Japanese Steakhouse. We had the best chef EVER! Let's put it this way; Darin caught 4 shrimp, Nathan caught 3 pieces of Chicken, Ken caught 5 shrimp, and even Rose caught 2 shrimp. Normally we consider ourselves lucky if we catch one. Ken comforting Rose during the volcano trick. The girls loved watching all of the fireshows at the other tables but got a little scared when it was directly in front of them. We had a wonderful evening celebrating our Family Anniversary!
