But this is full of some things that were a little more out of the ordinary.
This is our boys and their friend Obai (O-Buy). We thought our kids lived a pretty spectacular life but my goodness, Obai has traveled the world! He lives in Wisconsin but his parents are from Saudi. They travel out of the US every 6 months or so and then enter back in and he has been all over the world. They were in Cancun for 3 months for the summer. We made good friends with his parents Faiyza and Rihad. They came to our condo for dinner and played games a few nights. We even got invited to Obai's sisters wedding.
Obai would come out and play with us in the afternoons. The boys were digging holes into the wall of the sand and found a creepy friend.
They caught a little crab in their bucket. The way they were hollering you would have thought it was a foot wide instead of 1 centimeter. There's the little guy. The crabs they found in Cancun are like teeny tiny clear colored dungeness crabs, not like the sand crabs in the US that are more like a helmet.
Nathan was the first to hold this sucker.
Rose was totally brave and wanted to hold it too.
Darin was a chicken, as usual.
It wasn't until his little sisters showed him up and we bribed him with 50 pesos that he held it.
Passing it off to Ginger.
Rose really liked the crab.
The bonus of having to wear a life vest in the ocean for Nathan (because of his seizures) is that he can be the boogie board.
Obai would hang onto Nathan's life vest while Nathan body surfed. Believe it or not Obai and Nathan are the same age. Nathan is just a head taller and he is awesome at riding any wave with or without the board. It was too funny!
Nathan is under the water in this shot--crazy!
The three boys also like to play wave bowling. Basically two of them were pins and one of them would be the ball and body surf into them and try to take them out. It was kind of hilarious!
I tried to catch it on a movie.
The rest is just pictures of us playing in the waves which is pretty normal beach stuff. Except we don't really live at the beach so technically we don't do this everyday;-)
