Our Ginger turned 5 this year! Since her birthday is 2 days before Halloween she had another Spooky Party! Actually all of her parties have been Halloween themed. It is kind of scary that our baby is 5 already.
It just so happened that the day after her birthday was a half day of school for Darin, Nathan, and Rose. I hate having weekend parties for our kids who aren't in regular school yet, but at the same time our kids really wanted to be there. Which is awesome! The boys totally saved our bacon.
Here they are off to hide about 300 lollipop ghosts in the backyard.
First the kiddos decorated their party bags with all sorts of fun Halloween stickers.Ginger actually had two friend parties this year since we changed wards and she is attending a really large preschool. This party was mainly with her preschool friends.
We had lots of fun with the food. It's hard to see but that is a red tarantula floating in the water. The kids thought it was cool.
We made a pizza snake that was super easy and actually quite delicious.
Ginger really LOVED making these witches hats! It's just a store bought fudge striped cookie turned upside down. Then we used some melted green colored chocolate and stuck on a Hershey Kiss.
Darin was in charge of the Halloween dancing game.
Nathan did a Bean Bag Toss. I was super proud of him for constructing the game himself.
Ken was in charge of pin the nose on the Jack-o-Lantern.
I did a fishing game. The kids loved all the prizes. I was busy helping out lots of kids though so it turned out to be really great that Brynlie's mom stayed and helped out.
Ginger totally loved her party!
Which is always nice. Sometimes the little kids anticipate their party so much that when it actually happens they aren't so happy with it. But this year it was wonderful!
Pretty birthday girl!
Fishing
All lined up to go on a Ghost Hunt!
Moments like this make me absolutely adore our backyard!
There are so many fun places to hide stuff and the little kids think it is really big.
Back inside to eat some yummy snacks. Rose was so thrilled to attend Ginger's party. First she thought that she would help with games but then when she saw all the supplies and prizes she did not want to help and wanted to participate.
Ginger's cake this year! She was very particular about what kind of cake and frosting she wanted and the little character rings. Those were actually leftover from last year, or maybe it was the year before that. Ginger has had a Halloween themes party every year so far. I guess that's what happens when your birthday is two days before Halloween.
Darin lit the candles.
Nathan played the Happy Birthday song on the piano.
Blowing out her candles.
Then it was present time!
Ginger had lots of fun and loved all of her presents.
After the games and fun were over Rose was more then happy to bring out Sticky Feet (the lizard) and entertain the kids.
After the party Ginger put on the princess and fairy wings. She really wanted to model them for me.
Happy Birthday Gingerbread! We love you so much!
