Sundays

This year we began attending church at 9 am. Which means we should (notice I didn't say we always do) leave our house at 8 am. One Sunday we actually did leave on time and saw a Hot Air Balloon floating right over our neighbors house. As it floated over our house the guy even waived at us. The kids got a huge kick out of that. Early morning church can put a cramp on a yummy Sunday breakfast. But it's worth losing some sleep when it means french toast with homemade buttermilk syrup. It's addictive, you have to try it!

Here's the recipe:
1 Stick of Butter
1 1/2 cups Sugar
3 Tbsp Corn Syrup
3/4 cups Buttermilk (I usually just make sour milk by mixing 2 Tbsp of lemon juice with the milk and letting it sit for 5 minutes)
1 tsp of baking soda

Put it all in a big pot (like way bigger then you think, because it will get like 5 times bigger). Let it boil for 3 minutes. No need to stir until it's done cooking. Add 1 tsp of vanilla stir in all the foam and your done!

The great thing about early church is that we have plenty of time to mess around in the afternoon.
The boys thought it was hilarious to do me and Ginger's hair.
And at least when Daddy has to fly out on Sunday for a business trip, he can still attend church with us before saying goodbye.
Bye Dad, we promise to be good!

Yep, it's nice to have more time on Sundays!

I love buttermilk syrup. It's so easy but every time I make it everyone raves about it and acts like it took me a lot of time and effort to make it :) Can't complain about that!
