Easter Weekend

Easter Weekend we went camping with our good friends the Mata's and Coclasure's for two nights. We camped at Jellystone in the Hill Country. Yep, that's Jellystone like as in Yogi Bear. Apparently there are a bunch of Jellystone Campgrounds throughout the US. It was super fun with a bunch of amenities like playgrounds, 3 swimming pools, a huge jumping pillow, and organized activities. If you want camping that is serene and back to nature this is probably not for you. But , it's an awesome place to visit when you go camping with a group of fun friends! I brought some hot cocoa cups that had an insert for the kids to decorate.

The children kept hiking up this hill, even the girls would go up it by themselves. There were other sites and cabin at the top of it so basically they climbed it and then climbed down. They also played Capture the Flag 4 or 5 times. Even the girls joined in. Rose got really good at sneaking up and stealing the flag. Unfortunately her little legs don't run away very fast though.

Here's the big Middle Schoolers!
Nathan and his buddy Noah.
Resting from a fierce game of Capture the Flag. Ginger didn't take the game very well. She was not happy that they wouldn't let her steal the flag and run away.
Our sisters are so lucky! They have the nicest big brothers, they were taking them to jumping pillow to jump. So, so cute as the walked off!

We did some pretty good swimming too. It wasn't a really hot weekend or anything but it was refreshing to be in the water. Besides the kids were a bunch cleaner after they got out of the pool.

Of course with 5 boys there were alot of chicken fights!

The boys took Rose with them to play Candy Bar Bingo. To play you had to bring a dollar or a candy bar. We had a bunch of extra chocolate bars because of the burn ban, so I sent them all off to play while we cooked dinner. Sorry, while I watched the Mata's cook the most delicious dinner:-)

And guess who won??? Rose won 8 candy bars! She shared one with each of the kids and ate two herself. She was so happy!
We played bunch of other games too!
We had an Easter Egg Hunt for the kids on Saturday morning before we packed up to go home. It was pretty tough this year for the big kids, which was perfect! The funny thing is that we hid the eggs about 30 minutes before while the kids were off jumping at the pillow. They found one of the eggs actually gnawed through one end and the candy gone. It was too funny!

Here we are right before leaving the park. It was a great weekend!

Sunday morning Rosebud got sick while she was in the bath so me and her stayed home from church. Unfortunately there are no pretty Easter pictures of our family:-(

After church we did Daddy's Easter egg hunt. It's a fun tradition that the kids love to do. The girls really loved showing their Daddy where all the eggs are. And hurt their brother's feelings. So they got banned halfway through this time.

Then Ken opened up the eggs and found all of his favorite candy and fun cards from me and the kids.

It was a great weekend, but especially nice to take a brake and celebrate our Savior's Resurrection with great friends. Then simply and quietly at home with just our family!

Looks like fun! Did you camp in tents? I'll have to look into the Jellystone parks :)

That looks like such a fun place. I think that hot cocoa cup was cool! I may have to copy that idea. Where did you get them?
