Magazine Solicitors

Darin and Nathan had a magazine fundraiser drive at their  school.  Our boys were crazy excited about this fundraiser as they are about pretty much every fundraiser since their schools always make it a huge deal with a pep rally.  As parents Ken and I think it is especially irritating.  We also find the constant donations requests from their schools for worthy charitable causes annoying too.  It really is nearly constant.  Between the two schools our kids attend fliers or emails were sent home nearly every week all throughout the year.  UGH!

The boys ended up selling 10 magazines.  Which completely shocked me since we don't really let them ever ask anyone other then Lola and Papa and we only bought 3 or 4 magazines. It turns out that our boys talked their poor teachers into buying magazines from them.  More like sweet talked them!  I was mortified when I found out, but the boys swear that their teachers really did want to buy them and since they are some of the best students in their class they ordered them from them.

The prize for selling magazines was little rubber duckies, which I would have to say the PTO picked a hot item.  They had all sorts of different rubber duckies: ninja, princess, policeman, all sorts of sports, army, girly ones, etc.  After the end of the fundraiser they brought home a bunch of duckies and let their sisters choose a ton of them.  In total they ended up with something like 30 rubber duckies.

They are seriously the nicest big brothers!  Who says Solicitors don't have a heart:-)
