A Rare Sighting

We woke up this morning and found Darin at the table doing his homework on an early Saturday morning. It's so weird! I sat here for 15 minutes watching him. When Ken came out we started giving Darin a hard time. Because we are good parents like that to tease our children for making good choices:).
Ken thought he might be possessed by an alien. Then we wondered if it was an illusion and realized we hadn't actually touched him. Ken reached out a finger to nervously poke him, which of course turned to us asking him Smeagal like, "Is it squish-yyy? Is it Tast-yyy? Is it Crunch-yyy?"

Ha! Darin is such a good sport! And showing a remarkable amount of responsibility! Realizing that they have forgotten homework they were supposed to do over the weekend at 8:30pm Sunday night has been a regular occurrence most of this year for our boys. We are so proud of him!

One of our goals this year is to "Act Your Age". I would say he is right on track with that with resolution. He also got Nathan to do most of his homework too! (Nathan had opted to not practice his trumpet until after we woke up, it could have something to do with the fact that he only practices in our room-- I don't know why) It's amazing! They will be promptly awarded with a two hour Minecraft gaming session!
Update:  OK- So this is really weird but while Darin was finishing his homework all of his siblings were cleaning up their mess from Friday night and doing their Saturday morning chores without being asked, told, or reminded.  They even took showers (a miracle!) and worked on a Merit Badge.  There is definitely some sort of strange magic happening around here!
