Saturday, March 8th

Ken is off of work, YEAH! I'm having fun with the kids, but it's a little wild, although I guess that's the way I like it. But today, Ken is with us and we really got to play. We went to Fisherman's Wharf. First, we went on the Blue and Gold Fleet. Riding on the Blue & Gold was particularly important to the boys, maybe because they just had the Blue and Gold Banquet for Cub Scouts. We took the boat ride to the Golden Gate Bridge and back. The boys had fun. Rose wasn't too thrilled but I think the close quarters with other people was more of the problem. Then we went to Fisherman's Wharf, went in an out of shops looking around. The kids rode on the carousel.

For dinner we ate at Wipe-Out. The kids picked the restaurant, the food wasn't bad, service just took forever but it didn't really matter though since it was so loud that Rose crying didn't even register on anyone's radar. Eating here was kind of the worst experience of our trip because our camera was stolen out of our stroller. And since we didn't have much downtime since our Utah trip, I hadn't downloaded the pictures from that trip or my niece's wedding. We were all pretty sad to realize that it was lost, it was a lot of good memories.

After dinner we went to the Aquarium on the Bay. I don't know if you can really call it an aquarium though, at lease not one that we are used too. And especially disappointing since we were within driving range of the Monterrey Bay Aquarium.

The day did end on a high note, although in an unconventional way. While we were searching for our camera at places we visited on the pier Darin tripped. He cut up his leg pretty bad. And we started doing things to kind of make him laugh, telling jokes, making faces, etc. Anyway we decided that going to the Chocolate Store would probably make him feel better, but we made him promise that if he weighs 500 lbs. when he is older that he can't blame it on us because we fed him chocolate to make him feel better. He took the promise, and chose foil wrapped solid chocolate mini cars. Probably about a pound of chocolate all together. So I put it on the stroller, and we strolled through the store picking out things. Then the lady behind the counter says with disgust, "Ummm, she's eating the chocolate." And we look at Rose and she had broken through the tape of the box and had eaten two cars and was on her way to eat 2 more, and chocolate was all over her face. So Rose ended up getting a collection of foil wrapped mini cars too. Nathan got chocolate covered pretzels, and Ken got fudge (it didn't compare to his mother's at all, seriously for the price they charge for 1/4 lb. he might as well fly his mom out to Texas and get the good stuff not to mention more). Darin's tripping ended up putting us in a pretty good mood at the end of the night!
