Thursday, March 6th

Today was our first whole day in CA. We had the yummy Embassy Suites Breakfast, Ken and the boys are going to be so spoiled after 13 days of eating a hot cooked breakfast of pretty much anything they want. The only thing they don't have is Biscuits and Gravy. We spent the majority of the day hanging out at the hotel swimming a few times, and waiting for a Bay View room to be ready. They didn't have one available last night when we checked in, but they switched us to one today. That was an adventure in of itself, if you can imagine a mom with 4 kids, a baby limo (it's a double stroller, that of course no one is riding in because Ginger wants to be held so she is in my sling, and Rose is independent so she insists on walking), a bellman's cart full of 6 pieces of luggage, 3 backpacks, a diaper bag, and 20 grocery bags (you know just the usual supplies for a week and a half), plus the 4 extra pillows and 2 blankets we requested from our first night. It's nice to have boys who pride themselves on being strong, so they could help push our stuff down the hallways. Anyway, I was able to unpack and get everything put away so our hotel room feels like home for the next week and a half. This is a picture of the view from our balcony (if you can call it that, there is a little landing about 2 feet wide by 8 feet long and there is a sliding door to access it). It was worth moving to get the view, and Rose was entertained at least an hour each day just going outside and standing on it.
