Darin's 11th Birthday

Here is a our big Birthday boy. He was so excited for his birthday that he woke-up at 5 am. We cuddled him in our bed and every 20 minutes or so he would shift so that Ken I would wake-up and tell him "Happy Birthday" and "We Love You!" Then we would fall back asleep. Our poor guy is such an early bird and his parents are always so tired. We finally got up and made him breakfast and he was able to open presents.

First up was a CTR Ring that he wanted a couple of months ago when we visited our temple and the bookstore in San Antonio.

Then we kept making him close his eyes before we would give him his presents. Can you see how much he appreciated it:-P

Rose and Nathan were pretty happy to have Darin open his presents!

Darin got a gift card to Game Stop. Which happens to be his favorite store.

He also got some Star Wars Lego sets, a nerf football, and a video game.

Darin is such a smiley kid normally but he was beaming his whole entire birthday!

After presents it was off to school. This boy was so busy on his birthday!
Ken, I, and the girls were able to have lunch with him at school. Then he had piano lessons. Then Lola and Papa came over for his birthday dinner.

Mr. Money Bags. He got another $100 to add to his mission fund from Lola and Papa.

They also gave him a game he wanted super bad.

And this would be a picture of Ginger throwing her tantrum on Darin's Birthday. She wanted to open up his new game and play with it. Which considering she will bite DVD's is not a good idea.

Can you see the resemblance between Papa and Darin. They look alot alike when you compare pictures of them the same age.

This is the cake Darin requested. It's a Triple Chocolate Cake. Chocolate cake, with chocolate ice cream in between the layers, covered with a fudgey chocolate ganache. It was super rich!

We didn't have too much time for his family birthday party because it was his 1st night in Boy Scouts! He is an 11 year old scout now and very happy that his Dad is his leader!

Rose was pretty happy with her brother and even obliged him with a kiss. Normally she runs off laughing because she wants him to chase her.

Nathan enjoyed be able to light all the candles on the cake and not having Darin trying to compete to do it too. He's not allowed to light his own candles afterall:-)

I am very sad this is the only picture I had with my baby. I have a pretty hard time still on their birthdays. Darin is always the hardest since he is the oldest. But, now I only cry at the end of the day when Ken and I have our pillow talk about how big so and so is getting and what they were like as a baby.


Here is a wonderful boy. He is such a great kid to have as a 1st child. He is always easy-going and relaxed, patient, independent, happy, and helpful. We love him very much!
