Even opening presents was slow, it took us 2 1/2 hours (each person only had about 3-5 to open since we did all the others the night before) and was really nice because we got to see what everyone opened and the kids took time to play with their toys inbetween presents. We didn't even eat breakfast until 12:30 p.m.
This year we gave all the kids a nice picture of Jesus with the children. They each have a different one that we thought fit them best and framed them really nice so they can hang them in their room. When Rose opened hers she immediately pointed and said "Jesus!" Then she pointed to the boy and said "Boy, Darin!"
The funny thing is that I chose that picture for her because I thought she might look like the girl when she is older, or at least her hair might be the same shade.
Darin absolutely loves his remote control Army Tank, and his Army planes and model kits, and the new Star Wars lego game for the playstation.
Nathan was estactic over getting a new Pokemon game for his DS, a cool remote control car that can drive on the cieling and walls, and other games for his DS. Both of the boys loved Bakugan and Santa brought them Laser tag.
Rose has been obsessed with her babies and dolls she recieved from her parents and Santa. She totally loves the princess CD player her Daddy picked out for her.
Rose would not leg go of her stocking. She carried it around for a good 15 minutes before we could convince her to open up a present. She didn't even want to get into her stocking, she just wanted to hold it.
Surprisingly Ginger went crazy for her baby. She even started saying "Baby"! It is so cute and she walks around with the doll.
Since our two daughters have now become "mommies" Ken has been changing 4 diapers each night as he put the girls to bed. He has to get their babies dressed and ready to go for bed too, after all. He is a really good Daddy!
Actually he really would only have to make 3 diaper changes (Ginger could care less) except 1st he put one of the girls diapers on a cabbage patch doll and Rose thought it was too big, so luckily we had newborns in our closet and he has been changing the babies with those.
After breakfast Josh and Reianna came over with their two sons. The adults played games all day long while the kids played around (the boys mostly on their new video games). It was a lot of fun, and low-key. Josh taught us a new game called Citadel that we loved (so much so that the day after Christmas we tried to buy it but it was out of stock, and it's out of stock at the distributors:-(.
And of course we played Settler's of Cattan. We snacked on appetizers all day and then had our Christmas Eve leftovers for dinner.
It was really really nice to enjoy our family, friends, and the food (even though I didn't make a huge deal out of it this year). We didn't stop partying until 1:30 a.m. It was crazy!
