Paradise

The first couple days were slightly cool like 72-74 degrees. The ocean is totally warm enough to swim in all day but the pools have been freezing. Rose and Ginger were brave enough to play in them though. All our girls have been talking about for weeks is when they are going to get to swimThey have loved playing in the surf and sand though too!Our boys have LOVED Boogey Boarding! They only come in from the ocean when they are riding a wave and then they turn right around and head out again.Lola and Papa played in the waves too. Papa and Darin came dangerously close to a riptide. Thankfully they got out of it pretty fast.Rose and Ginger love singing and dancing in the outdoor shower as they rinse the sand off their little beach bums:-)
Daddy is our pack mule, he spends a lot of time hauling our gear down to the beach. Thankfully it takes about a minute to walk down the steps from our condo.
We've spent alot of time catching up on sleep too. Rose and Ginger usually crash on the couch sometime during the day, but we have also went to bed at 7:30pm a couple of nights too. It feels amazing to actually get enough sleep each night.
Except for on the nights we have stayed up late playing a bunch of games. We've been playing Hearts, President, Scrabble, and Backgammon. After the first two days it warmed up to 78-80 degrees during the day with clear blue skies. It has been just perfect!

Rose has been loving riding the waves with Daddy! She is so fearless and it takes alot for her to care about the waves splashing on her.Nathan is the MASTER at finding sea shells. He has already found a huge conch shell intact! He also finds the cool, pretty shells that look different from most of the others. We've also had some relaxing lunches from our downstairs balcony. We love this view so much!I took Ken and the kids on a shopping trip to Wal-Mart and Sam's Club in downtown Cancun. They have never been, I have just gone with my parents. It's really no big deal to hop on the bus, which is way cheaper then taking a taxi. Everyone is so nice that I would feel comfortable going shopping for groceries by myself during the day. We went a little later towards when it was getting dark and it still felt very safe. I told Ken we could live here and I would be just fine using the buses to get me and the kids around:-)

I was able to buy all of the things I wanted to fix our Turkey Christmas dinner, I even have everything to make Ken a pecan pie and cinammon rolls for the kids!To reward us for our awesome shopping Ken took us out to Haagen Daz at Kukuklan Plaza! It's the mall right behind our condo complex and the kids have fond memories of eating the ice cream fondue on our last trip to Cancun. Ken love Haagen Daz, he will love it more though when we go out there later without the kids because they totally devoured the whole thing:-)It really has been paradise! Lots of fun, food, and playing with our family. We feel so lucky to be spending this time together and creating wonderful memories.
